The commander in chief of theChilean Navy, AdmiralJuan Andrés De La Maza, visited the command posts of theTask Forcesof the province of Arauco to review the facilities and conditions in which theMarinesdeployed under theEmergency Constitutional Exception (EEC-E) live.

The province of Arauco, together with the province of Biobío and the Region of La Araucanía, are, as published by Infodefensa.com, in a State of Emergency since May 17 due to serious and repeated acts of violence and terrorist attacks in theSouthern Macrozone.

According to the institution, Admiral De La Maza, accompanied by the head ofNational Defensefor the provinces of Arauco and Biobío, CommodoreDaniel Muñoz, toured the facilities where personnel of theArmed ForcesandCarabineroscarry out their daily activities and was informed of the progress made in infrastructure for food, rest and equipment.

Habitability and training

The admiral highlighted, after the visit, the instance of being able to interact with the troops deployed in this part of the country, thank their work and value the possibility of "seeing how from last year to this year the quality of life of the people has changed considerably."

The naval authority pointed out that Marine Corps personnel until last year lived in individual tents in a precarious territory and that thanks to the support received this year, especially by the Government, it was possible to improve living conditions.

"People have new tents, they have toilets in some containers, asphalting was made and the quality of life has improved, especially in winter, because the weather conditions in this area are very hard and that has been our main concern, that the people who are here are in optimal conditions, "said De La Maza.

The admiral also emphasized that "the institution has not neglected the training work of the troops, while the personnel is deployed by theState of Constitutional Emergency Exception. We cannot leave aside the training of the Marine Corps Force, in parallel with being here, we are also moving forward with the training of our forces."

"Last week I was in Puerto Aldea, verifying the last exercises of the year and how we have also been resuming the training that is essential to fulfill these tasks," said the commander in chief of the Navy.
