ScanEagle 장시간 무인정찰기

by 충실한 해병 2023. 1. 2.

육상에서, 해상에서 운용 가능한 ScanEagle 장시간 무인정찰기

ScanEagle is a descendant of another Insitu UAV, SeaScan, which was conceived of as a remote sensor for collecting weather data as well as helping commercial fishermen locate and track schools of tuna. ScanEagle emerged as the result of a strategic alliance between Boeing and Insitu. The resulting technology has been successful as a portable Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) for autonomous surveillance in the battlefield, and has been deployed since August 2004 in the Iraq War

The ScanEagle? Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) for military and homeland security applications comes from the teaming of Insitu and The Boeing Company. ScanEagle is an economical, long endurance unmanned aircraft (UA) and can be an enabler of network centric warfare. ScanEagle is the onl y UA in its class with with an inertially stabilized camera turret, designed to track an object of interest for extended periods of time, even when the object is moving and the aircraft nose is seldom pointed at the object. The turret can house either an electro-optical daylight or infrared camera.

ScanEagle differentiates itself from other UAS due to:
20+ Hours of Endurance Both Day and Night
No Need for a Runway — Unconditioned Terrain and Shipboard Operations Made Easy
High Level of Stealth — Even at Low Altitudes
Reliable During Many Adverse Weather Conditions
Small Size and Autonomous Operations Keep Personnel Requirements Low
Many Components Replaceable While in the Field
Space for Upgraded Avionics Components
Inertially Stabilized Camera with Persistent Staring Capability
Selective Expendability due to Low Cost

ScanEagle provides mission flexibility through its avionics system housing expansion slots. These slots provide operators the ability to tightly integrate payloads into the vehicle including communication relay devices and other sensors. ScanEagles can also operate in swarms which can loiter overhead until needed by forward deployed forces for ISR or communications missions.
The centerpiece of ScanEagle is an integrated camera in an inertially-stabilized pan/tilt nose turret. Visible or infrared cameras can be fitted for day and night operation. The daylight camera has an acuity about 50 percent better than that of the unaided eye at the telescopic end. It can resolve objects such as small vehicles from at least 5 miles away. The operator can command the camera to pan back-and-forth for wide-area search, or to remain locked ont o an object while the aircraft maneuvers.

The ScanEagle is ideal for multiple, highly persistent sensing roles and provides unique and highly effective solutions for:
Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (ISR)
Communications Relay
Battle Damage Assessment (BDA)
Covert Target Acquisition
Target Laser Illumination
Opposition Force Simulation
Search and Rescue
Drug Interdiction
Geomagnetic & Atmospheric Surveys
Law Enforcement
Resource Mapping
Search and Rescue (SAR)
Flight Operations Research
Coastal Patrol
Terrain Mapping
Atmospheric Research
Weather Forecasting

The ScanEagle platform is flexible, expandable, and quickly reconfigurable in the field, due to the modularity designed into its airframe, avionics, payloads, and PC expansion boards. As with all of Insitu's unmanned aircraft systems, the patented SuperWedge Launcher and SkyHook Retrieval System for ScanEagle are compact, with small footprints. ScanEagle is configured for sea and land-based operations. Ashore, Boeing offers the ScanEagle Squadron, which includes the aircraft, SuperWedge Launcher, SkyHook Retrieval System, command center, associated spares, and auxiliary equipment. For sea-based operations, each system component is custom-installed aboard ship.
